Upcoming Meetings and Workshops
The General Plan update has been completed!
On Tuesday, March 29, 2011, the Sutter County Board of Supervisors adopted the CEQA
Findings of Fact and Statement of Overriding Considerations, certified the Final
Environmental Impact Report and Mitigation Monitoring Report prepared in accordance
with the California Environmental Quality Act and the CEQA Guidelines, and approved
the comprehensive update of the Sutter County General Plan, including approval of
the updated Housing Element, and approval of the Climate Action Plan (CAP). The
new General Plan including the new land use designations will become effective
30 days after the approval date, which is April 28, 2011.
This action by the Board of Supervisors has brought the 3 1/2 year long General Plan
comprehensive update process to an end. There are no further General Plan update
meetings or workshops scheduled. The Planning Division is now in the process of
updating its mapping information so that it will reflect the land use designations
contained in the newly adopted General Plan. In the coming months, Planning staff
will be returning to the Board of Supervisors for the rezoning of those parcels that
now have a new land use designation, in order to provide consistency with the new
General Plan.
