The Substance Abuse Steering Coalition of Yuba, Sutter and Colusa Counties (SASC)
is an alliance of community organizations and individuals collaborating on the common
goal to increase awareness in the community of drugs of abuse, including tobacco,
alcohol and illicit drugs. Its purpose is to (1) advocate for policies that regulate
tobacco, alcohol and illicit drugs in the tri-Counties; (2) collaborate with adjoining
cities, business communities, public health agencies, churches, schools, and
community-based organizations; (3) serve as an advisory body to the Sutter County
Public Health Tobacco Control Program; and (4) assist in program development,
implementation, and evaluation of the Sutter County Tobacco Control plan throughout
the Sutter community.
