Sutter County Tobacco Control Program Adult Coalition
The Substance Abuse Steering Coalition of Yuba, Sutter and Colusa
Counties (SASC) is the name of the Sutter County Tobacco Control
Program's Adult Coalition. The SASC's goals are to increase
awareness in the community of drugs of abuse, including tobacco,
alcohol and illicit drugs. We also direct our efforts to prevention
and interventions with respect to drug use and collaborate with
other organizations that have similar goals.

1445 Veterans Memorial Circle, Yuba City, on the 4th Thursday of the month, at 3:30.
Sutter County Adult Tobacco Coalition Mission Statement
The Sutter County Tobacco Control Coalition has been formed to provide a
forum for members to express their unalterable opposition to the illegal
sale and use of tobacco; to identify the tobacco problems in Sutter
County; to enhance the effectiveness and impact of other organizations
which are providing tobacco education outreach; and to coordinate the
effort of other organizations in meeting the tobacco problem. The SASC
also includes teen representation from local Jr. and Sr. high schools.
Students in the 9th-12th grades who are interested in tobacco issues
at the local and state level are welcome at the meetings. Youth members
assist with alcohol, drug and tobacco outreach in the community, such
as the annual "Run Drugs Out of Town 5K Run".
Committee organizations that are currently represented on SASC are:
Yuba City Fire Department, Yuba County Tobacco Program, Colusa County
Tobacco Program, First Steps, Options for Change, Marysville Police
Department, Sutter County Sheriff Department, Yuba County Schools
Intervention Program, California Highway Patrol, Sutter County Office
of Education, Pathways, members of CYO (Community Youth Organization –
formerly TAG), Friday Night Live, National Guard – Drug Demand Reduction Program.
