Groundwater Management Plan
Sutter County is initiating work to prepare a Groundwater Management Plan (GMP)
in accordance with the California Water Code, Article 17050. The overall goal of
the GMP is to ensure that the quantity and quality of groundwater in the County
is sustained. This will be accomplished through development and implementation
of Basin Management Objectives (BMOs) that will be an integral element of the GMP.
In order to develop a successful GMP, the County will be educating stakeholders
that represent water agencies, special interest groups and the general public on
water resource related activities. Participation of the stakeholders will be
essential in the development of the GMP.

The County of Sutter will be conducting public outreach over the next several
months in order to establish an open process to facilitate stakeholder input,
collect data, form and advisory committee, identify groundwater issues and
develop objectives. Interested parties will be contacted by the County's
consultant and representatives from the County.
