Action Plan

The Building Resilient Communities - Nutrition and Food Access action plan, updated December 19, 2024, describes the objectives, strategies, and actions related to Nutrition and Food Access that Sutter County Public Health and our various community partners will implement to build a more resilient community in Sutter County. Here is an overview of the overarching vision and objectives included in the action plan:

  • Overarching Vision: Increase access to healthy foods regardless of location or socio-economic status.
    • Objective 1: By January 30, 2026, implement at least one additional program that delivers food to vulnerable priority populations experiencing food insecurity in Sutter County.
    • Objective 2: By May 2026, establish at least one additional farmer's market.
    • Objective 3: By December 2026, establish and implement a "food as medicine" campaign and toolkit in collaboration with community stakeholders to increase the availability of healthy foods, strengthen knowledge of healthy foods, and to encourage healthy food choices.
