Requests for Proposal (RFP) - Notice to Vendors

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT sealed proposals shall be received for “Legal Process Services” until 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2006, by the County of Sutter, State of California, in the office of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, 1160 Civic Center Blvd., Suite A, Yuba City, California 95993, at which time they will be publicly opened. The “services” are more particularly described in the specifications and related documents, which may be obtained by contacting the Purchasing Division at (530) 822-7473 between 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday or by visiting our website at Vendors utilizing mail services are encouraged to have packages delivered two business days prior to the proposal opening in order to allow for internal mail sorting, routing and delivery. Further, packages submitted via Fed Ex, UPS, or other carrier service shall be enclosed in an envelope clearly marked “PROCESS SERVICES PROPOSAL”. It is the responsibility of the vendor to ensure proposals are in the custody of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors at the designated time of opening. No late proposals, or proposals submitted via facsimile (fax), shall be accepted.
Sutter County Wins CSAC Achievement Award

Sutter County has won an Achievement Award from the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) for its Mobile Dental Project, Sutter County Smiles. This project is a joint effort of the Sutter County Children and Families Commission, Peach Tree Clinic, and the Yuba City Unified School District. The project provides mobile dental services to children aged 0-6 at various sites throughout Sutter County. The goal of the project is to improve children’s oral health which in turn will lead to better school functioning for children in the first years of school.

The mobile dental clinic is stationed at school sites throughout the county Monday through Thursday of each week. Staffing includes a pediatric dentist, registered dental assistant, bilingual parent liaison and bilingual outreach coordinator. This year over 700 children have received care from this project with children averaging about 3 visits each.

The CSAC Achievement Awards are given each year to outstanding projects and this year 10 programs were selected from among the 202 entries to receive the award. The award will be presented at the annual meeting of CSAC in November 2006.

SutterHelps Website Receives National Achievement Award

Sutter County Departments of Information Technology and Human Services received a coveted Achievement Award from the National Association of Counties (NACO) at that organization's annual meeting in Chicago on August 7, 2006.

The award was granted for the development and implementation of, a Web-based information site which gives individuals an opportunity to see which of 16 eligibility-based programs they might benefit from. SutterHelps provides preliminary eligibility indication for programs ranging from School Lunch to Medi-Cal. This program is one of a kind in California and is available free of charge to users.

The program was conceptualized by staff from the Department of Human Services and created by staff from the Department of Information Technology. No outside consultants were used and the program runs on existing Sutter County equipment. Sutter County Supervisor Larry Montna was present for the award presentation and received the award on behalf of Sutter County and the two departments involved.

NACO Achievement Awards are granted each year to counties for innovative programs in 20 different categories. The 2006 awards were granted to 97 counties representing 27 different states.
